How it Works

There are varying levels of autopilot sophistication

1. Basic: At the most basic level, the auto pilot can operate like the cruise control in your vehicle.

2. Direct: You can select a way point and instruct the auto pilot to steer to that point.

3. Course: You can chart a course and enter that information into the computer. The computer then gets feedback from your current location and adjusts the rudder accordingly to keep you on course.

Compass: This system automatically determines your vessel's current heading at all times.

Course Computer: This system constantly checks and adjusts your boat's performance to match the conditions..

Control Unit: This is the only part that is visible above deck. It's where you enter your course & destination.

Drive Unit: This device is mounted below deck and is linked directly to your boat's steering system. It adjusts the rudder to keep your boat on the planned course.
